The Residency

A Living Studio for the Disciplined, the Unsolicited, and the Undeniable

The Erik Brunetti Foundation Residency is a selective, on-site program designed to support artists, designers, writers, and cultural practitioners whose work exists outside institutional approval and commercial trend cycles. It offers time, space, and minimal constraint. Its value lies not in amenities, but in autonomy.

Residents are hosted at the Elderwell Estate in Easton, Pennsylvania—a privately held cultural site overseen by the Foundation. This is not a retreat. It is a working site of production, friction, and aesthetic risk. The Foundation provides accommodations, studio access, and—where relevant—archival materials or local black belt training partners for those exploring embodied disciplines.

Eligibility

There is no application process. Residents are identified and invited through an internal selection process informed by the Foundation’s broader mission to advance subversive, strategic, and socially durable work. Candidates may include artists, martial artists, scholars, typographers, rogue gardeners, or others whose work resists convenient categorization.

Support

The Residency is supported by the Foundation and by contributions from aligned patrons, cultural partners, and institutional collaborators. It exists to serve those whose work may otherwise never receive institutional shelter—and to create conditions where form follows nothing but necessity.

Timeline

Pilot residencies will begin in 2027, subject to funding and infrastructural readiness.
